Paul Vaughn Butterfield is an American harmonica player, singer and conductor. After his initial training as a classical flute player, he became interested in blues harmonica. He explored the blues scene in his hometown of Chicago, where he met Muddy Waters and other big names of blues, who encouraged him and the opportunity to participate in social gatherings. He soon started performing with blues passionate colleagues Nick Gravenites and Elvin Bishop.
